During the meeting, Carolyn Lamm underlined that the AUCC confers honourable award to the Uzbek President Islam Karimov for sustainable transformation of economy of Uzbekistan into effectively managed market economy.

Lamm underlined that the decision on conferring award, adopted by the members of the AUCC, is evidence for international acknowledgement of the “Uzbek model” of development, which was developed by the President Islam Karimov.

It is worth to mention that the AUCC unites such companies as Boeing, Honwell, General Electric, Exxon Mobil, General Motors, Sikorsky Aircraft, Zeppelin International AG, Nobel and others.

Representatives of Boeing and Honeywell, who attended the meeting, said that the Uzbek model of economic reforms, which based on five principles, allowed to ensure macroeconomic stability without shocks and conduct deep structural reforms, as well as create conditions for transition to market relations in the country.

The AUCC representatives underlined macroeconomic figures of Uzbekistan, especially high growth of GDP, sustainable budget surplus, current account balance surplus, stable growth of gold-currency reserves and low level of public debt, UzA reported.

In his turn, the Uzbek President Islam Karimov expressed his assurance that the AUCC will become important mechanism on expanding trade-economic and investment cooperation between two countries.

The members of the AUCC delegation expressed gratitude to the Uzbek President for warm welcome, the report said. During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on further developing the Uzbek-US relations in economy and investment sectors. It was noted that the sides are interested in attracting advanced US technologies and investments into economy of Uzbekistan. The sides noted that the work on creation of favourable conditions for such interaction will be created.
