On the eve of our greatest and dearest holiday, the 21st anniversary of state independence, a group of citizens who have made a remarkable input into the national development, to the elevation of its economic potency, the consolidation of peaceful and harmonious life, were rewarded with high state awards – honored titles, orders and medals – by decrees of President Islam Karimov for their accomplishments in socio-economic, scientific and technological, spiritual and enlightenment spheres.

The official presentation ceremony of these noble awards took place at the Oqsaroy on December 7.

“I am greatly honored to congratulate you, my dear compatriots, who have been favored with high awards of our state, on the twentieth anniversary of our Constitution and express my deep reverence to you,” Islam Karimov said.

“It has come to be a good tradition on the eve of the Constitution Day, in an official environment, to present awards to our fellow citizens privileged with high titles, orders and medals for their considerable contribution to the advancement and prosperity of our Motherland with selfless and honest work.

“Today, by embracing all of our compatriots in your person, I would like to express my sincerest wishes to you.

“Let me reiterate a truism: our people appreciate the endeavors of thousands of our fellows like you, the courage, the humanism and the generosity of spirit of those laboring in all walks of life and all different sectors of our economy, be it manufacturing, agriculture, construction industry, transport and communications, education, healthcare, science, culture and sports, in nurturing a healthy and comprehensively advanced generation, in the defense of our peaceful and harmonious life, and all those who have devoted their knowledge and skills to the prosperity of our country and the consistent implementation of reforms,” the President pointed out.

“Mounting instability, crisis and a variety of conflicts abound in the current world we live in, in the near and far abroad. While our people, on the other hand, have been making significant achievements. One can say with confidence that these kinds of triumphs are being earned thanks to your tireless industry esteemed by the nation with due high regard.

“Indeed, our attainments and successes, the extensive reforms and our aspiration for new ends have been earning appreciation across the globe, and hence filling our souls with a sense of pride and bliss.

“When we speak of such a high recognition, we all understand well that these gains and advances and their acknowledgment by the international community are indisputably built on the well-deserved input of every individual living in this beautiful land.

“In this sense, every citizen of this country, irrespective of ethnic origin, language and faith, is entitled to say with delight that they have their own contribution to these successes, as well.

“Our nation, the courageous and gallant, generous and bighearted people who has experienced an enormity of adversity and been hardened by the tests of life, who looks to the future with endless confidence, along with the younger generation of ours who is full of new strength and energy and is the follower of our noble undertakings – is a pretty huge force, thus making us capable of overcoming any hardship and of declaring with confidence that we can win the future.

“Allow me to take this opportunity to once again congratulate you and all those who have received high awards and wish you every success and the best of luck!”

Toward the end of ceremony, some of the recipients took floor to thank the head of our state for keen attention and care. They pledged to continue to work arduously toward the prosperity of native land, inspired for attaining new gains.
