On 26 June, Islom Karimov signed a resolution to approve the two agreements signed by the Uzbek and Bulgarian governments on 6 November 2008.
These are agreements on cooperation in information technologies and telecommunications and on cooperation in the protection of intellectual property rights.
It should be recalled that the documents had been signed during Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov’s state visit to Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek Foreign Ministry has been instructed to notify Bulgaria that Uzbekistan is carrying out the domestic procedures needed for the two international agreements to take effect.
