Uzbek-Japanese conference discuss preservation of cultural heritage
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek-Japanese conference titled “Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of Silk Road countries” has been held at the Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture in Tashkent within the Art Week Style.uz-2012.

The conference summed up results of archeological master-classes, which were held in September 2012. The event was organized by Fund Forum, Uzbekistan Art Academy, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Fund for Studying Cultural Heritage and Art (Japan), Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture and Uzbekistan State History Museum.

Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture hosted master-classes on archeology “Workshop 2012” on 10-29 September 2012 with participation of Uzbek and Japanese scientists. Within the first week, the workshop was dedicated to basics of archeology, methods of archeological works, preservation of discoveries, etc. The second week was dedicated to practical works on research of archeological discoveries and monuments.

At the conference, the participants summed up results of master-classes, foreign and local experience in preserving cultural heritage. It was noted that excavations, conducted by the Uzbek and Japanese scientists, showed that interest of youth to cultural heritage is increasing.
