Over 50,000 of the over 514,000 voters in Navoi Region are young people who will vote for the first time. Today Islam Karimov, presidential candidate from the LDPU, met local voters. At present, the community of farmers and businessmen in Navoi Region is expanding.
Otkir Mavlonov, head of regional district electoral commission No 6, presided over the meeting. Islam Karimov familiarized those who had gathered [at the meeting], including representatives of the public, businessmen, farmers, elders and young people, with his election programme.
The supremacy of law, respect for human interests and ensuring human rights, developing a democratic society, greater economic liberalization, and greater modernization of the country are identified as priorities in the election programme. It was noted at the meeting that the holding of the election on an alternative basis has become possible thanks to the formation of a national electoral system.
Islam Karimov also told the voters how he thought Navoi Region was doing in all fields of activity. Those who spoke at the meeting also expressed their opinions on the candidate’s election programme.
