Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The cause of iodine poisoning in children is due to overdose. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

The head of the Ministry of Health said that the incident with Antistrumin was in some cases associated with an overdose of the drug. He added that all responsible persons involved in this situation will answer before the law.

The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov noted that he will personally take responsibility for preventing such cases.

“We have taken a systematic approach because there are too many shortcomings and problems in the system,” said Amrillo Inoyatov.

In Namangan region, over 70 children were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning and were treated with iodine.
