Uzbek Govn’t to set control over coal prices
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan adopted measures on ensuring control over prices and volumes of coal realization to population of the country.

Cabinet of Ministers issued a resolution “On additional measures on supplying coal to population in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions” on 23 October 2012.

The document is directed at uninterrupted supply of coal to population of Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions and avoid price hikes during autumn-winter period.

According to the resolutions, these regions do not have territorial coal distribution centers and the coal prices are raised by coal supply organizations without any ground.

The document said that territorial coal distribution centers were created in Karakalpakstan Republic, Andijan, Bukhara, Namangan, Ferghana, and Khorezm regions by Uzbekugol open joint stock company.

It added that Uzbekugol works on creation similar coal distribution centers in Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Samarkand, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions as well.

Meanwhile, the Government entrusted local administrations in cooperation with Interior Ministry and State Tax Committee to ensure control over set prices and the volume of coal realization to population.
