The volume of the gross domestic product produced in the Republic of Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2007 amounted to 4.2 trillion soums, according the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The growth rate was 9.1% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The GDP index-deflator was 16.5% as compared to January-March 2006.
The structure of GDP production shows that 73.5% of GDP were produced in the non-state sector, 26.5% - in the state sector of the economy.
The increase in the growth rates of value added in industry (7.2%), construction (12.8%), transport (114.1%) and trade (114.7%) had a great effect on the GDP growth.
