Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus, Alexander Ogorodnikov.

Minister Saidov congratulated Ogorodnikov on his appointment as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan, expressing confidence in the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

"While receiving copies of his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we discussed key areas of our cooperation and plans for the near future," Saidov noted.

He also wished the ambassador success in his new diplomatic mission.

Alexander Ogorodnikov, who previously served as First Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus, succeeds Leonid Marinich, who led the Belarusian embassy in Tashkent from 2018 to 2025.
