Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 28 October  2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Sergey Lebedev, who was in Uzbekistan as the head of the CIS observer mission for the parliamentary and local council elections.

In a post on his Telegram channel, the Uzbek Foreign Minister stated, "We had a meeting with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Mr. Sergey Lebedev, who is leading the CIS observer mission for the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan. We discussed the implementation of the outcomes of the recent CIS Council meeting, strengthening our cooperation, and the schedule of upcoming events."
