Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Attilio Fontana, Governor of the Italian region of Lombardy, who arrived in Uzbekistan at the head of a high-level delegation.

According to the Uzbek foreign minister, Lombardy is one of Italy’s key economic regions, and the governor’s visit opens up new opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.

“We are sincerely pleased to welcome the esteemed delegation from Italy, which has come to explore new avenues for cooperation,” said Bakhtiyor Saidov. “The strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Italy, grounded in close ties between our leaders and regular high-level contacts, provides a solid basis for achieving mutually beneficial results in areas such as trade, industry, innovation, and beyond.”

During the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in developing practical cooperation and identified several priority areas for deepening the partnership.
