Uzbek FM holds negotiations with Japanese business circles

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held meetings with Japanese business representatives.

In particular, Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Masayoshi Fujimoto, President and CEO of Sojitz Corporation.

“We paid special attention to combining the company’s best advantages with unrealized opportunities in our economy,” the head of the foreign ministry of Uzbekistan wrote on his Telegram channel.

Bakhtiyor Saidov also had a productive meeting with Yoichi Miyamoto, Chairman of the Board of Shimizu Corporation. The parties emphasized the great opportunities for bilateral fruitful cooperation, especially in infrastructure projects.

“We highly appreciate the commitment of the Chairman of the Japan Foreign Trade Organization, Mr. Ishiguro Norihiko, to increasing the volume of bilateral trade and enhancing economic cooperation,” wrote Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoko Kamikawa.

“We fruitfully discussed the issues of intensifying our further cooperation in all promising areas without exception. We signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Japan for 2024-2025. We are committed to further strengthening the Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership and achieving more tangible results,” said Saidov.

Bakhtiyor Saidov also took part in the business forum in Tokyo together with the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Ryosuke Kozuki and the Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization Ishiguro Norihiko.

About 300 representatives of the business community, government agencies and regions had the opportunity to discuss ways to expand economic ties through the implementation of more promising joint projects in many areas. In addition, a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed during the event.
