The Czech Embassy in Tashkent said that experts from Uzbekistan visited the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 28 November – 2 December to exchange experience in this area.

The delegation included specialists of National Human Rights Center of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan President’s Office. The delegation had chance to familiarize with the Czech penitentiary system.

Management of Penitentiary Service of the Czech Republic briefed the Uzbek colleagues on the local system on treating convicts and training employees of the Penitentiary Service. The delegation visited jail in Stráž pod Ralskem.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation met with members of the Senate of the Czech Republic Miroslav Antl, Jaromír Jermář, and Václav Homolka.
