Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to preliminary data, from January to November 2024, Uzbek enterprises produced industrial goods worth 780.9 trillion soums, with the industrial production physical volume index compared to the same period in 2023 at 106.8%. This was reported by the Statistics Agency.
As of today, there are 64,000 industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan, of which 11,300 (17.7% of the total number of active enterprises) are located in Tashkent, 6,800 (10.6%) in Tashkent region, 6,600 (10.3%) in Fergana region, 5,600 (8.7%) in Samarkand region, and 5,100 (7.9%) in Andijan region.
Analysis of the per capita industrial production from January to November 2024 revealed a significant excess of the national average (21,060.5 thousand soums) in Navoi region (119,234.3 thousand soums), Tashkent city (52,014.1 thousand soums), and Tashkent region (38,815.0 thousand soums).
In terms of production structure, the largest share is held by the manufacturing sector (84.8%), with a production volume of 662.5 trillion soums.
From January to November 2024, the largest share of total industrial production in the country was contributed by Tashkent city (20.4%), Navoi region (16.5%), Tashkent region (15.3%), Andijan region (9.8%), Fergana region (5.3%), and Samarkand region (5.0%).
Compared to the same period in 2023, the average industrial production indicators across the country increased, with notable growth in Surkhandarya (108.5%), Namangan (108.2%), Tashkent city (108.0%), Khorezm, and Navoi (108.0%) regions.
The volume of goods produced by the mining industry and quarrying enterprises from January to November 2024 amounted to 60.8 trillion soums, or 7.8% of the total industrial output.
Manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 662.5 trillion soums, or 84.8% of the total industrial production from January to November 2024.
In the structure of the manufacturing sector, the share of high-tech industries was 1.3% (compared to 1.4% in January-November 2023), medium-high-tech industries made up 22.2% (compared to 25.1%), medium-low-tech industries 38.3% (compared to 37.5%), and low-tech industries 38.2% (compared to 36.1%).
In the manufacturing sector, the share of enterprises involved in the production, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment, automotive production, trailers and semi-trailers, and other metal products accounted for 20.8% (physical volume index compared to January-November 2023 was 107.7%). The share of the metallurgy industry was 23.3% (physical volume index compared to January-November 2023 was 105.1%). The production of textile products, clothing, and leather goods made up 16.3% (physical volume index compared to January-November 2023 was 111.6%).
In the manufacturing sector, the share of food, beverage, and tobacco product production was 17.8% (physical volume index compared to January-November 2023 was 104.1%), while the share of chemical production, rubber, and plastic products was 7.9% (physical volume index compared to January-November 2023 was 106.4%).
From January to November 2024, 1,185.8 thousand tons of automotive gasoline were produced (a 2.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2023), 555.1 thousand tons of cotton yarn (a 4.2% increase), 223.0 million liters of beer (a 13.3% decrease), and 853.0 thousand tons of wheat and spelt flour (a 14.4% decrease).
Large enterprises in the country produced 3,116 trucks from January to November 2024 (a 3.2% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2023).
From January to November 2024, large enterprises produced 737 buses (a 5.0% decrease compared to the same period in 2023).
In the country’s automotive industry, from January to November 2024, the following vehicles were produced: 149,790 "Cobalt" cars (a 43.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023), 6,301 "Chery" cars (a 35.6% decrease), 19,328 "KIA" cars (a 36.0% increase), 12,837 "Gentra" cars (an 82.7% decrease), 92,011 "Damas" cars (a 15.3% increase), 23,033 specialized passenger cars (an 8.9% increase), 40,718 "Tracker" cars (a 0.1% decrease), 36,408 "Onix" cars (a 24.7% increase), 6 "Lada" cars, and 2,473 "Haval" cars.
From January to November 2024, large enterprises in the country produced 10,196.5 thousand bumpers (a 74.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023).
From January to November 2024, large enterprises produced 243.1 thousand automotive engines (a 2.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023).
In the machinery industry, large enterprises produced 1,013.0 thousand lead-acid batteries for internal combustion engines from January to November 2024 (a 1.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2023).
From January to November 2024, large enterprises produced 369.9 thousand refrigerators and freezers (a 40.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2023).
Capital repair work on technological equipment has allowed chemical enterprises to increase capacity utilization and surpass last year’s production levels for sodium carbonate (104.5% compared to January-November 2023) and potassium chloride (112.1% compared to January-November 2023).
From January to November 2024, the share of the metallurgy industry in the manufacturing sector was 23.3%, with a physical volume index growth of 5.1%, and production reached 154.5 trillion soums.
By the end of January-November 2024, the share of other non-metallic mineral products in the manufacturing sector was 5.6%, the physical volume index increased by 21.0%, and production amounted to 36.98 trillion soums.
From January to November 2024, food products made up 13.8% of the manufacturing sector, with a physical volume index of 104.8%, and production reached 91.17 trillion soums.
During this period, beverage production made up 3.4% of the manufacturing sector, with a physical volume index of 98.0%, and production reached 22.53 trillion soums.
By the end of January-November 2024, textile production accounted for 11.5% of the manufacturing sector, with a physical volume index of 111.7%, and production reached 76.16 trillion soums.
From January to November 2024, clothing production accounted for 4.3% of the manufacturing sector, with a physical volume index of 11.5%, and production reached 28.34 trillion soums.
In the chemical industry, its share in the manufacturing sector was 5.5%, with a 1.0% increase in physical volume index, and production reached 36.25 trillion soums.
By the end of January-November 2024, coke and petroleum product production accounted for 3.6% of the manufacturing sector, with a physical volume index increase of 3.5%, and production reached 23.95 trillion soums.
Rubber and plastic product production in the manufacturing sector amounted to 2.4%, with a physical volume index of 129.3%, and production reached 15.8 trillion soums.
Electric equipment production accounted for 3.3%, with a physical volume index of 104.0%, and production reached 21.73 trillion soums.
In the production of ready-made metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, the share was 2.3%, with a physical volume index of 86.8%, and production reached 15.44 trillion soums.
Automobile production (including trailers and semi-trailers) accounted for 12.1% of the manufacturing sector, with a physical volume index of 104.8%, and production reached 79.84 trillion soums.
Electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production amounted to 53.4 trillion soums (6.9% of total industrial output).
Compared to the same period in 2023, electricity production from January to November 2024 amounted to 92.5%, and heat energy production was 93.1%.
The water supply, sewage, waste collection, and disposal sector produced 4.2 trillion soums (0.5% of the total industrial output).
Compared to the same period in 2023, textile waste production decreased by 3.3%, while services for wastewater removal and treatment increased by 1.6 times, and services for the emptying, cleaning, and treatment of septic tanks and cesspools decreased by 2.5%.
From January to November 2024, small businesses produced goods worth 246.0 trillion soums, which accounted for 31.5% of total production. In the same period of 2023, the small business share was 26.1%.
