Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 January 2024, it is proposed to restore 100% prepayment for natural gas and electricity for business in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Energy published the corresponding draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers for discussion.

According to the proposal, the increased coefficient applied to outdoor advertising will be used for video screens and electronic displays placed on building facades, elements of street equipment, roads, gas stations, as well as for various illumination and lighting installed on trees and structures near public catering.

Electricity consumption at the advertising site will be accounted for through separately installed meters.

From January 2024, the costs of installing metering devices and connecting to electrical networks will be covered by legal entities, and from April this measure will also apply to individuals.

From the beginning of next year, entrepreneurs who have not made an advance payment for natural gas may be applied an increased coefficient of 1.4 to the cost of services provided, and supply companies - 10%.

In addition, it is planned to improve the system of applying fines for inefficient or wasteful use of energy resources.
