Uzbek, Egyptian joint commission sign deal on water resources management
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A number of documents have been signed in Cairo at a session of the Egyptian- Uzbek intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.

The sixth session of the joint Uzbek-Egyptian intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation was held in Cairo, Egypt, on 4-5 May.

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service said that the Uzbek delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Qosimov and the Egyptian delegation was led by Minister of International Cooperation Fayizah Abu-al-Naja.

During the talks, the sides attached special attention to increasing trade and expanding investment cooperation, as well as to cooperation in agriculture, water resources management and tourism.

At the end of the talks, the Uzbek minister of agriculture and water resources and the Egyptian minister of irrigation and water resources signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in water resources management.

Moreover, the Uzbek archive agency Uzarxiv and the Egyptian main directorate of the national library and archives signed a memorandum of understanding. The Samarqand State University and the Suez Canal University also signed a similar document.

The Tashkent mayor office and the Cairo administration signed an agreement on friendship and cooperation.
