Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kim Hee-sang.

The meeting between representatives of Uzbekistan and Korea highlighted the continuation of work on the Framework Agreement for Cooperation on Climate Change.

On 19 October 2023, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the Framework Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and South Korea for Cooperation on Climate Change. The goal of the agreement is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build capacity to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change and to ensure transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy.

The parties also discussed the current status of projects jointly implemented in cooperation with the Economic Cooperation and Development Fund of Korea (EDCF) through Eximbank's soft loan facilities.

At the same time, the ongoing projects with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) also became an important topic of discussion at the meeting. The participants exchanged information on the current progress of the projects and discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea.
