Uzbek Delegation pays visit to Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbek delegation, consisting of representatives from analytical and academic circles, continues its working visit to Japan. 

Among the experts is also Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Mustafaev.

On 11 July, a meeting was held with the leadership and experts of the Tokyo Foundation for Political Studies, a leading analytical center in Japan that has been conducting independent research since 1997 on issues concerning the economy, environment, healthcare, education, science, and technology.

Productive negotiations took place with President Kadono Izumi, Executive Directors Mari Suzuki, and Mieno Nakabayashi.

Both sides exchanged views on expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.

It was noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral relations in all spheres. It was emphasized that thanks to the pragmatic and active foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, new strategic opportunities are opening up for expanding multifaceted cooperation with Japan. Implementation of joint projects in trade, agriculture, energy, transport, and education were identified as promising directions.

An agreement was reached on holding regular meetings and events involving analytical centers of both countries.

Alongside the leadership of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the event was attended by leaders and experts from the Information-Analytical Center of International Relations, Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, Center for Economic Research and Reforms, and the International Institute of Central Asia.

The visit program also includes organizing a conference jointly with the Japan Institute of International Affairs on the topic "Uzbek-Japanese Expert Dialogue: Strategic Partnership in New Conditions."

During the joint expert forum, researchers from both countries will discuss current aspects of Uzbek-Japanese relations and develop concrete proposals and recommendations based on these discussions to further strengthen the strategic partnership.
