Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  An Uzbek delegation took part in a training program on World Trade Organization (WTO) accession, held in the Republic of Korea.

During the visit, Heesang Kim, Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, met with the Uzbek delegation.

The discussions focused on potential challenges in the country’s accession process to the WTO and ways to address them.

“I had the pleasure of meeting the Uzbek delegation undergoing WTO training this week. Amid Uzbekistan’s intensive accession negotiations, this was a timely opportunity to exchange views with talented young Uzbek officials,” Heesang Kim noted in a LinkedIn post.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that he was impressed by the dedication and enthusiasm of the participants, which, in his view, reflect “Uzbekistan’s strong commitment to joining the multilateral trading system.”

The training allowed participants to deepen their understanding of WTO mechanisms and better prepare for future negotiations.
