Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Abdulhakim Eshmuratov, Chair of the Senate Committee on Judicial-Legal Affairs and Anti-Corruption of the Oliy Majlis, took part in the 4th Forum of Parliamentarians of the Member States of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG), held in Moscow as part of the EAG’s 42nd Plenary Week.

The event gathered more than 200 delegates from over 15 Eurasian countries, as well as participants from the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and representatives of more than 20 international organizations.

Forum discussions focused on legislative measures to combat money laundering and the use of asset recovery mechanisms as tools to counter organized crime and terrorism financing.

In his address, Senator Eshmuratov emphasized that strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation across the Eurasian space is a key element in ensuring international and regional security.

Participants were also briefed on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at establishing an open and people-centered parliament, focused on transparency and responsiveness to societal needs.

Special emphasis was placed on the broad engagement of citizens, civil society organizations, experts, and active youth in the legislative process—an important step toward increasing the accountability and openness of the country’s legislative body.

The forum concluded with the development of practical proposals to deepen cooperation among EAG member state parliaments.
