The session discussed reports of the committees of IDB in 2010-2011, issues of modern and effective implementation of investments projects and technical assistance programmes, approved by the bank, and adopted corresponding decisions.

Uzbekistan joined the IDB in 2003 and became its 55th member. Currently, 15 projects for US$464 million are realized within the cooperation of Uzbekistan and the IDB. The projects cover such sectors as equipment regional centers with ambulances, construction of high-voltage electricity supply lines, construction of general schools and professional colleges, road construction, financing of small and private businesses, etc.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the IDB President Ahmad Mohamed Ali and the sides discussed perspective directions of bilateral cooperation. Afther meeting, the sides signed a programme of cooperation for 2011-2013, which envisages financing of 11 investment projects in Uzbekistan for US$655.5 million.

Within the event, the Uzbek delegation held several bilateral meeting with the head of delegations of Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman.

After the talks with Saudi Finance Minister Ibragim al-Assaf, the sides inked agreement with Saudi Development Fund on allocation of preferential loan for implementation of the project on reconstruction of Guzar-Chim-Kokdala highway.
