Uzbek delegation holds successful talks in Ürümqi and Beijing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  In the first week of December 2024, a delegation from Uzbekistan, comprising representatives of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade and local authorities of Namangan region, visited the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Beijing in the People's Republic of China.

The primary goal of the visit was targeted engagement with investors to attract direct Chinese investments into specific projects planned for Namangan region. This focused approach was based on thorough analyses and pre-visit project development.

During the visit, the delegation held negotiations in Fulong, Ürümqi, and Beijing with executives from leading Chinese companies, including Hunan Zhongwei Group, Fulong Four Season, Xinjiang Tianshan, Jinmo Camel Biotechnology, BJ Supply Chain Management, Shaoxing Zhonglu, Yang Yexuan Wantai, Shenzhen Decoration Group, New Energy Agriculture, Zhuanghuayiliao, GCL Group, China Gansu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Sichuan Commercial Investment Group, and others. These discussions focused on concrete details of project implementation across multiple sectors in Namangan region.

The Uzbek delegation showcased the country’s favorable business environment, highlighting tax incentives, preferences, and legal protections for investors. Chinese companies highly praised Uzbekistan’s investment climate, noting its growing reputation in Chinese business circles as one of the most reliable destinations for capital investments.

The talks resulted in agreements on joint projects in tourism, healthcare, infrastructure development, fruit and vegetable processing, livestock, automotive manufacturing, textile production, construction materials, and equipment for solar and wind power plants. The Ministry reaffirmed its readiness to provide comprehensive support to Chinese partners at every stage of project implementation.

Additionally, on 6 December, an Uzbekistan-China business forum took place in Beijing, gathering executives from over 20 major Chinese companies who expressed keen interest in the projects presented. The forum featured B2B negotiations, where participants outlined further steps for on-site project refinement.

Chinese partners emphasized that Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms and numerous successful project implementations have made the country an increasingly attractive investment destination. This trend is gaining momentum among China’s business community.

It was noted that similar investor-focused initiatives will be organized for every region of Uzbekistan. Local authorities, with the support of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, will continue to hold similar negotiations to attract new investors to Uzbekistan.
