The meeting was chaired by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton and attended by Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The participants discussed current state and perspectives of deepening dialogue between the EU and Central Asian states at bilateral and multilateral formats, implementation of agreements, achieved at previous meetings of foreign ministers in Tashkent in April 2011, as well as international issues.
At the meeting, the EU delegation called to establish high level dialogue on security issues, the Uzbek ministry said.
During the meeting, the sides considered trade-economic issues, protection of environment, and use of water and energy resources.
