It included a photo exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan and its applied art as well as a master class on cooking pilaf. The event was organized by the Fund Forum, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, Kim Pen Hwa Charitable Foundation and the Korean Cultural Center.
The event was attended by representatives of Russian ministries, mayors’ offices, the diplomatic corps, culture and art professionals, national autonomies, public organizations, and various cultural centers in Moscow.
During the exhibition “Commonwealth of Cultures, Commonwealth of Nations” held as part of the event the Fund Forum presented a photo exhibition titled “Uzbekistan – Culture and Development” as well as an Uzbek applied art exposition.
The photo exhibition demonstrated Uzbekistan’s rich culture and history which spans thousands of years. Many of those gathered noted that Uzbek culture is one of the most colorful and original cultures of the Orient. It offers unique traditions, folklore, music, dance, fine and applied art, culinary delights and national clothes.
It was emphasized that that photography has for decades served to bring cultures closer, to disseminate ideas, and to drawing parallels between values of nations of the world. By taking photos, artists convey human emotions, the beauty of nature and historical monuments, thereby contributing to the image of a particular country, its people, culture and traditions.
The event concluded with a master classes on the world-famous Uzbek meal, pilaf, which is the main dish of Uzbek national cuisine. The organizers noted that pilaf is Uzbekistan’s most famous culinary delight. No wedding, party or birthday in Uzbekistan is held without this delicious meal. The guests of the event had the opportunity to pilaf cooked during the master class.
