Uzbekistan 18/09/2009 Uzbek court deports Kazakh man for missionary
Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Hamza district court of Tashkent has ruled to deport a Kazakh citizen, 36-year-old Timur Chekparbayev, from the Uzbek capital and to deprive him of the right to enter the country, for actively propagating ideas of the Bahai religious community.

The missionary had temporary residence permit in Hamza district of Tashkent. The foreigner, in a short period of time, managed to knit together a serious religious community, which comprised young people from Tashkent as well as Jizzakh and Bukhoro regions of Uzbekistan. This young man violated Uzbekistan’s laws and regulations of staying in the country by engaging in missionary activities and proselytism despite not having needed religious education and a license that allows him to carry out this kind of activity.

The Bahai doctrine was founded in 1844 in Persia as an independent religion based on teachings of its founder Bahaullah.
