Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chirchiq transformer plant open joint stock company signed an agreement on partnership and cooperation with Lyubertsy Plant Montajavtomatika (LPM, Russia) and Tallinn Electrotechnology Plant EsTel (Estonia) on joint production of demanded products in electrotechnology market – power unit of locomotives and electric locomotives.

Within the project, the sides will start reconstruction of production capacities of LPM with full modernization of technological processes on production of transformers for electric locomotives and their maintenance. Currently, the design of building and production capacities is underway. The own railway line is created and it is linked with Moscow railroad.

Advantageous location of the enterprise, 1.5 km from Moscow and close to main consumers and suppliers, will help enterprise to organize uninterrupted supply of raw materials with help of any transport and create shipment system in line with European standard. The plant introduces progressive and ecologically clean technologies, which recently were adopted and not used in Russia so far. The enterprise equipped with modern technologies from leading producers.

Chirchiq transformer plant said it is continuing third phase of modernization of capacities on production of traction-feeding transformers for railway locomotives. The plant is completing preparation of design documentation of traction-feeding transformers for two-set electric locomotives, which is planned to produce jointly at LMZ. The production technology and quality management system at LMZ will be similar to those at Chirchiq plant.

Another participant of the project is EsTel, which is assignee of Tallinn Electrotechnology Plant named after Kalinin and Scientific Institute of transforming equipment, largest producer of transforming equipment and power semiconductor equipment in the USSR. This enterprise was the first producer of transformers for railways and traction-feeding transformers in former Soviet Union.

Within the partnership, EsTel and LMZ will launch production of convertors for traction rolling-stock and to other industries. Currently, EsTel is completing development and production of new convertors for locomotives with collector drive. Inter-departmental commission of the Russian Railways on accepting experimental construction works will review these products in the third quarter of 2010.

The work on creation of Russian convertor for electric locomotives with asynchronous drive is underway. Currently, Russia does not produce this product.

The project implementation will allow unique plant in Russia, which will produce large number of products for electrotechnical machinery.
