During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on current state and perspectives of cooperation in telecommunication and information technologies. It is worth to mention that NEC is working in Uzbekistan for a long time and helped to develop digital telecommunication network and television in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek committee said.

Currently, NEC implements a project on digital television in Uzbekistan, which should be completed by 2017. Currently, the level of coverage of population with digital television in Uzbekistan makes up 45%. The sides discussed to increase level of digital television coverage up to 50%.

The sides also discussed issues of further expanding of cooperation in development of new telecommunication and information technologies, as well as training specialists for the industry.
