Uzbek citizen gets seven years in Moscow for robbery
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A citizen of Uzbekistan has been sentenced to seven years in prison for armed attack on warehouse loaders of the Moskva-Tovarnaya-Yaroslavskaya station.

"The court of Moscow’s Babushkinskaya district has made a judgment of conviction against Akram Tursunov, citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan, finding him guilty in five armed attacks committed by a group of people who used some items as weapons (Part 2, Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the press service of the Moscow Transport Prosecutor’s Office told Interfax.

The agency’s interlocutor said the investigation had established that, from 29 December 2007 to 28 January 2008, Akram Tursunov with his accomplice committed armed attacks on citizens of Uzbekistan who worked as warehouse loaders at the Moskva-Tovarnaya-Yaroslavskaya station.

The perpetrators committed all the crimes in the lounge of a warehouse belonging to one of the limited liability companies on the Yeroslav highway, the press service said.

The press service added that the perpetrators were brutally beating victims and taking their money. "In such cases Akram Tursunov and his accomplice used knifes or an object resembling a pistol," the agency’s interlocutor said.

Akram Tursunov was found guilty and given seven years in high security prison.
