Uzbek-Chinese venture in Tashkent starts to produce transformers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Elektr Quvvat Qurilmalari, an Uzbek-Chinese joint venture, started to produce transformers in Tashkent. The project cost is about US$5 million.

The capacity of the enterprise is 100,000 transformers a year. Currently, the venture produces 0.4 kilovolt transformers, but in future it plans to produce 10-35 and 1000 kilovolt transformers.

In the first phase, the venture will export up to 10% of products. In 2013-2014, it is planning to raise this figure up to 20%.

The founder of the venture are Holley Metering Limited (55%, China), Energotamir (25%) and Elektron Hisoblagich (20%).
