Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek chess players began the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest with a victory.

The Uzbek men’s team secured a decisive win against Trinidad and Tobago with a score of 3.5-0.5. Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, and Jahongir Vokhidov won their games, while Nodirbek Yakubboev drew his match.

Meanwhile, the Uzbek women’s team achieved a 4-0 victory over Haiti. The wins were secured by Afruza Khamdamova, Umida Omonova, Nilufar Yakubboeva, and Nodira Nodirjonova.

The World Chess Olympiad, organized by FIDE, is taking place in Budapest from 10 to 23 September 2024. The tournament features open and women’s events. The Uzbek men’s chess team is the reigning champion of the FIDE Chess Olympiad.

The Uzbek men’s team includes Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javoхir Sindarov, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, and Jahongir Vokhidov.

The Uzbek women’s team consists of Afruza Khamdamova, Nilufar Yakubboeva, Umida Omonova, Marjona Malikova, and Nodira Nodirjonova.
