Uzbek boxers secure convincing victory at the second stage of the World Cup
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The second stage of the World Boxing Cup concluded in Poland, where the Uzbekistan national team once again demonstrated its high caliber.
In the final bouts, all members of the men’s team showcased excellent technique and strength, winning six gold medals.
The sole female representative of the team, Khumorabonu Mamajonova, also performed admirably, earning the silver medal in the competition.
Gold medals were claimed by Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov (up to 55 kg), Asadkhudja Muydinhudjaev (up to 65 kg), Fazliddin Erkinboev (up to 75 kg), Javokhir Ummataliyev (up to 80 kg), Akmaljon Isroilov (up to 85 kg), and Jahongir Zokirov (over 90 kg). Khumorabonu Mamajonova took silver in the up to 57 kg category. Bronze medals were awarded to Samandar Olimov (up to 60 kg) and Gafurjon Tokhirov (up to 70 kg).
By the end of the tournament, the Uzbekistan team secured first place in the overall team standings, winning a total of nine medals — six gold, one silver, and two bronze.
It is worth recalling that at the first stage of the World Cup held in Brazil, Uzbek athletes also achieved outstanding results by winning five gold medals.
