Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national boxing team continues its strong performance at the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool.
In the 51 kg category, Feruza Kazakova secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Brazil’s Caroline De Almeida, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Similarly, Sitora Turdibekova dominated in the 60 kg category, defeating Italy’s Rebecca Nicoli 5-0.
Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov in the 55 kg division also controlled his bout against Iran’s Mehdi Kazemi, winning convincingly.
Javokhir Umataliyev reached the quarterfinals in the 80 kg category with a 5-0 win over South Korea’s Kim Minseong. He will face Kazakhstan’s Nurbek Oralbay in the next round.
Sabina Bobokulova advanced to the quarterfinals in the 48 kg category with a solid victory over Poland’s Angelika Kristoforska.
Aziza Zokirova, competing in the 70 kg category, defeated Germany’s Leonie Müller 5-0, guaranteeing at least a bronze medal by reaching the semifinals.
Shodiyorjon Melikuziev in the 50 kg class overcame Australia’s Omer Izaz 5-0, including scoring a knockdown.
Asadkhoja Muydinkhojaev in the 65 kg division also claimed a confident 5-0 win over Finland’s Ismail Umar. He will meet Kazakhstan’s Ertugan Zeynullin in the quarterfinals.
Akmaljon Isroilov in the 85 kg category continued Uzbekistan’s winning streak with a 5-0 victory over Australia’s Lachlan Lawson, advancing to the quarterfinals.
