An Uzbek-Belarus business forum was held in Tashkent on 22 May. Heads and representatives of the two states’ large companies specializing in the production of vehicles, agricultural equipment, food and agricultural products are among the participants in the forum.
"Economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus is developing quite successfully, during the recent 3-4 years trade doubled, and last year it reached US$70 million," the chairman of the Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Uladzimir Babrow, said.
He said: "The visit will make it possible to expand cooperation further."
As earlier reported, the trade between Uzbekistan and Belarus rose by 66.4% in the first quarter of 2007 to US$23.7 million.
