Freestyle wrestler Artur Taymazov won only gold medal. He won gold medal in freestyle wrestling competitions in weight category of 120 kg and became three time Olympics champion.

Uzbekistan claimed three bronze medals in judo, boxing and freestyle competitions at London Olymic Games.

Rishod Sobirov won the first bronze medal of Uzbekistan in judo competitions at the weight category of 60 kg. Many expected that he would win gold medal, but he repeated his achievement of Beijing Olympic Games .

Uzbekistan pinned high hopes for boxers. But, unfortunately, two-time world champion Abbos Atoyev could reach only to semifinal. He lost to Japan’s Ryota Murata and won only bronze medals.

Silver medalists of Beijing Olympic Games Soslan Tigiev won third bronze medal of Uzbekistan in freestyle wrestling in weight category of 74 kg despite losing in quarterfinals.

In the result, number of medals, won by Uzbek athletes at Summer Olympics, reached 21. Uzbekistan won five gold, five silver and 11 bronze medals at Olympic Games.

Uzbekistan was the first represented at Olympic Games of 1996. Uzbek athletes won two medals at Atlanta Games – 1 silver (judo) and 1 bronze medal (boxing).

In 2000, in Australian city of Sydney Uzbekistan won four medals – 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Boxer Muhammadqodir Abdullaev won the first gold medal for Uzbekistan at Summer Olympic Games.

In Athens Olympic Games (in 2004) Uzbekistan national team clinched five medals, of which two were gold medals. Artur Taymazov won his first gold medal. Greek-roman wrestler Aleksander Dokhturashvili received the second gold medal at Games. In Greece, Uzbekistan also won one silver and two bronze medals.

Four years later in Beijing, Uzbekistan won six medals. Uzbek athletes won a gold, two silver and three bronze medals. Artur Taymazov won only gold medal of Uzbekistan and his second at Olympics.

It is worth to mention that Artur Taymazov won three of five gold medals of Uzbekistan at Olympic Games. At the same time, wrestlers clinched the largest number of medals – 8, including four gold, three silver and one bronze medals.

Boxers are in the second place on number of won medals. They claimed seven medals – one gold and six bronze medals.

Judokas are on the third place with four medals. So far, they won two silver and two bronze medals. Rishod Sobirov won both bronze medals.

Gymnasts also won two medals at Olympics, which were claimed at Beijing Games. Anton Fokin and Ekaterina Hilkho clinched bronze medals.
