UzAuto Motors carries out planned modernization of the plant in Asaka

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UzAuto Motors, in cooperation with 170 specialists from South Korea and other countries, is launching a planned modernization of the production lines of the plant in Asaka.

In order to increase production capacity, ensure stable production and prevent conveyor downtime, the plant will undergo technical work, during which the operation of production lines will be temporarily suspended. The modernization will increase the annual production of Chevrolet Cobalt cars by another 30,000 units.

The modernization plan includes debugging of new equipment, maintenance of production lines, as well as planned work to upgrade the plant’s infrastructure.

In particular, as part of the modernization plan, work will be carried out in the press shop to debug and launch a new FANUC robotic system (Japan). A large-scale modernization in the paint shop will include the replacement of conveyor rails, service maintenance of the robotic system of the shop, as well as testing of all systems of the painting process.

Large-scale work will be carried out on two production lines of the assembly shop, which will increase the production speed to 35 JPH (vehicles per hour) on the first line and up to 30 JPH (vehicles per hour) on the second. This, in turn, will increase the annual production of all car models. Modernization of the second line will increase the annual production of Chevrolet Cobalt by 30,000 units.

The modernization program also includes work on the repair and maintenance of auxiliary equipment and infrastructure of the enterprise. During the work, all mobile equipment will be brought into full readiness - these are forklifts, electric tractors, truck cranes and other equipment. To ensure a stable supply of electricity at the plant, the main transformer of the enterprise and 2 auxiliary transformer stations will also be replaced. In addition, preventive work will be carried out at the enterprise throughout the entire power supply system.

In addition to the main work on the installation and debugging of new equipment at the UzAuto Motors plant in Asaka, scheduled maintenance work will be carried out on all units of the press, welding, painting and assembly shops.

The press service of UzAuto Motors recalls that these works are planned and do not affect the schedule for the delivery of cars to consumers.
