Uzbekistan 18/09/2007 UWED students, staff attend intensive course on Library and E-Recourses
Intensive course on the "Library and E-Resources" was conducted at the UNDP-supported Resource Center and Library of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) for nearly 90 graduate students and faculty staff members on 4-10 September 2007.

Dr. Hwichool Kim, Professor of Han-Yang University (Seoul) and tutor of the National Library of Korea delivered the course.

Participants from various Departments of UWED studied and discussed in depth thesis writing, articles writing and work on methodical aid and e-materials for a teaching process; library and distance education through lectures and seminars as well as Internet resources.

As a Chairman of Korea Information Search Committee, Dr. Kim presented modern tools and standards on using of e-resources through University’s teaching and study process for separate group of students and academic staff members.

This event was organized in the framework of the UNDP project "Enhancing the Capacity of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy to Support the Foreign Policy of Uzbekistan". The project aims to strengthen the capacity of the University to support the development and implementation of the foreign policy of Uzbekistan, the course will be dedicated to reaching one of its main target, namely improvement and introduction of new methods for bringing the UWED teaching and study process in line with international standards in education for the ensuing career in foreign service.
