UTID and representatives of Turkish enterprises met to discuss a wide range of issues.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met at the Ministry of Economy and Finance with representatives of the Association of Businessmen of Uzbekistan and Turkey - "UTID", a non-governmental non-profit organization. This was reported by the information service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Bobur Khojaev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Davronjon Adilov, First Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Nozimjon Kholmurodov, First Deputy State Tax Committee Mubin Mirzaev and representatives of a number of other government departments.

Among the foreign guests were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar, Secretary of the Embassy in Turkey and Uzbekistan Alican Aksoy, Trade Counselor of the Embassy Ahmet Melih Horata, Chairman of the UTID Association Davut Azmi Erbaş, as well as Turkish businessmen working in Uzbekistan.

Mr. Olgan Bekar, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Turkey Alisher Azamkhojaev, at the beginning of the meeting, emphasized that such initiatives to assist business owners and investors will help strengthen bilateral ties and further increase the country’s investment potential.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on such important issues as stimulating investment and introducing project financing opportunities, comprehensive approaches to alternative solutions to infrastructure barriers in industrial zones, and a consistent solution to existing problems related to VAT, customs rates and control over the import of goods.

The parties emphasized the importance of the production of leather and footwear, pharmaceutical products, building materials, furniture and glass in the implementation of new joint investment projects between Turkey and Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen partnerships and promote the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
