Use of ICT in improving investment climate in Uzbekistan discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree “On additional measures on improving investment climate and business environment in Uzbekistan” on 7 April 2014, which is directed at improving business environment, creating favourable investment climate and raising transparency of the activities of the state and governance activities, creating new job places and ensuring employment of population.

The decree approved a programme of additional measures on further improving investment climate and business environment, increasing efficiency of stimulating development of entrepreneurship activities for 2014-2015, the State Communication Committee of Uzbekistan said.

Ministries, state committees, departments, joint stock companies, association, state bodies in places were entrusted to publish information related to their relations with business entities on their website in a month term and update them regularly.

They should focus on publishing legal documents, adopted by the corresponding state bodies, terms and conditions of issuing of permission documents, licenses, certificates and other documents to businesses, terms and costs of state and other services, provided to businesses.

The State Committee on Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan entrusted to establish control over adhering of the websites of the state bodies to requirements on issues related to their interaction with the business entities.

The programme for 2014-2015 also reflects several measures on active use of information-communication technologies. The Cabinet of Ministers should establish control over execution of the measures.

Currently, the businesses can use my.gov.uz web portal to use state services and send their complaints and appeals to the state bodies. They can also use call-center at number 200-18-18.
