US Embassy organizes concerts of band Brazzaville
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The US Embassy Tashkent will organize concerts with the American band Brazzaville dedicated to the 19th Independence Day of Uzbekistan.

The band that creates sophisticated music with multicultural echoes will bring their sound across Uzbekistan for series of concerts on 6 – 10 September 2010.

Founded by David Arthur Brown in 1997 in Los Angeles (LA), California, Brazzaville has toured extensively across Russia and Europe, but this will be their first trip to Uzbekistan. "The band creates a musty noir Tropicalia with mysterious rhythms and shadings, like a humid back alley cafe in some faraway land where the ceiling fan moves too slowly, perspiration drips down the walls and one false move can be your last," says Erik Himmelsbach from LA Weekly.

Brazzaville's tour across Central Asia is organized with the support of the US Department of State’s Performing Arts Initiative Program. The US Embassy is also working with the following local sponsors and partners UCell, Guli-Bonu Producer Center, BCD Travel, National Paralympics Association, “Chorvoq Oromgohi” (Charvak Pyramids) and “ Naturel” on this concert series. In addition to Uzbekistan, the band will tour Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Armenia.

Brazzaville launches its Uzbekistan tour with a concert in Khiva’s Ichan Kala fortress on 6 September. On 7 September, the band will dedicate its performance to the Paralympics Movement of Uzbekistan at the Charvak Pyramids Resort. Other concerts include, on 8 September at the Mujiza Amphitheatre in Samarkand and on 9 September at the Turkiston Palace Summer Hall in Tashkent.
