US diplomat said: “The year 2010 saw a steady deepening of the relations between the United States and Uzbekistan in a wide range of areas, from educational exchanges, economic ties, and concerns for regional security. The year was capped by a productive visit by Secretary Clinton to Uzbekistan during which there was mutual agreement to improve the bilateral relationship between the US and Uzbekistan. During the visit, the two sides signed a Science and Technology Agreement, further evidence of the continuing improvement in US-Uzbek relations. America’s relationship with Uzbekistan is important to the American people, and we look forward to expanding upon it in the coming year”.
