Urban URBAN MARKET starts in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21-22 October 2023, the first city URBAN MARKET will be held in the capital’s art space Hangar by Oila.

The market brings together small Uzbek fashion businesses and people for whom it is important to make conscious purchases, influence sustainable development and thereby help independent local brands develop.

Here you can not only purchase exclusive and unique handmade goods, but also simply have a good time, meet new interesting people, get acquainted with the most fashionable new products from designers, listen to live music and lectures, and watch a movie. In general - combine business with pleasure!

The organizers of the festival lay down the idea of “A modern image of centuries-old traditions.”

The project is aimed at developing the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, promoting handicrafts and craftsmanship, creating a single platform for creativity, development and implementation of art brands, designers, artists, musicians.

Project mission: URBAN MARKET is a platform that allows anyone to support local production and small businesses through the purchase of unique goods.

We believe it’s time to rethink our relationship with things created by corporations and the mass market. Small brands are often more responsible than large companies, value their reputation more highly and, as a result, strive to make a high-quality and interesting product.

We value our sellers and buyers equally and maintain an ethical competitive environment within our platform. Each brand undergoes manual moderation. We focus on transparency of production, quality of goods, honesty and the ability to meet the client halfway.

As we continue to develop URBAN MARKET, we want to inspire people to make a choice in favor of the local rather than the global. After all, this is one of the ways to reduce the negative impact of humans on the environment.

Most of the items on URBAN MARKET are created locally and often by hand. This helps reduce CO2 emissions and does not cause as much damage to the environment as corporate activities.

In addition, URBAN MARKET plans to work and collaborate with many charitable organizations.
