The programme of celebrations included video presentations, concert and festive foods, Fund Forum said.

Among the guests were representatives of diplomatic corps, accredited at the UN, other international organizations, public and academic circles of New York.

The organizers presented video on festival of traditional culture “Asrlar Sadosi”, which demonstrated rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, traditions and customs of the Uzbek people.

The message of the UN Secretary General Bank Ki-moon was delivered at the session. In 2009, Navruz was included to the UNESCO intangible heritage list and the UN announced 21 March as International Day of Navruz.

Navruz is spring holiday of equinox, which has been celebrated over 3,000 years.
