Strategy on population nutrition improvement is multi-sector consultative and planned process, which includes main interested state and private sides. The process on transfer from existing and widely-support nutrition activity to integrated and state management programme requires to unite efforts of various structures, including Health Ministry, Public Education Ministry, Economy Ministry, Finance Ministry, flour, salt and cotton oil producers.

National programme envisages expansion of fortified flour production to decrease anemia among women by 20%, expansion of salt iodination and achievement of 85% consumption among population, enrichment of cotton oil with vitamin A, etc.

National Center on introduction of international criteria on live birth at the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute was opened on 25 June.

The center will provide opportunity to acquaint with information on latest achievements of medicine on protection of maternity and childhood, which will assist to cut child mortality.
