Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the visit of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre delegation, led by Director Lazare Elundu Assomo, to Uzbekistan, the cultural and historical landmarks of Bukhara were explored, and discussions were held on their preservation plans.
A presentation on the prospects for preserving and developing Bukhara’s cultural heritage was also held. The discussions involved Gayane Umerova, Chairwoman of the Culture and Arts Development Foundation, Botirjon Shakhriyorov, First Deputy Khokim of the Bukhara Region, Kurbon Tursunov, Khokim of Bukhara City, and Kamol Mukhtarov, Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO.
The presented projects by Wilmotte & Associés focus on preserving Bukhara’s historical appearance. Experts in cultural heritage, including representatives from the Agency for Cultural Heritage, discussed the next steps and plans for implementing these initiatives. The importance of a comprehensive and systematic approach to cultural heritage management was emphasized.
