UzA reported that the guests received information on activity, targets and goals of the Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan, which coordinated actions of the citizens and organization on reforming rational use of natural resources and ensuring ecologic security.

At the meeting, it was noted that ecologic situation in Surkhandarya region, which borders with Tajikistan, worsened due to emission of harmful substances by the Tajikistan Aluminum Company.

Jan Dusik said that he knows that the Tajik company harms health of population of Surkhandarya region. He added that joint efforts are needed to prevent ecologic problems and decrease negative impact of environment.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on further developing relations between the UNEP and Uzbekistan in ecology, mitigating consequences of Aral Sea problem, etc.
