Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI) conducted a study on unemployment among women in Uzbekistan and its causes.

The lowest unemployment rates among women are observed in Tashkent city (7.9 percent), Namangan (11.9 percent) and Tashkent (12.8 percent) regions.

Based on the results of the study, a portrait of unemployed women was formed:

The average age of unemployed women is 32 years.

The average duration of unemployment among women is 3 years.

According to the results of econometric analysis, the presence of higher education in women increases the probability of employment by 0.99%, marriage reduces the probability of employment by 1.35%, and increasing a woman’s age increases the probability of employment by 0.08%.

The calculation results showed that the correlation coefficient between unemployed women and fertility is 0.79, and the correlation with marriage is 0.73.
