Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between the leadership of the Uztekstilprom Association and the leadership of UNECE (United Nations Economic Committee for Europe) within the framework of the 70th Session of the UNECE Commission in Geneva, during which the parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the field of digitalization industry and the introduction of "green" energy.

UNECE expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Association for assistance in the implementation of the UNECE Pilot Project on the implementation of the Blockchain system, which makes it possible to trace the entire production cycle. The sides welcomed the achievements of the cotton-textile sector, the level of reforms, both in terms of sustainability and digitalization.

Representatives of UNECE highly noted the achievements of Uzbekistan over the past 5-6 years. Director of the UNECE department E. Tuerk said that the past period showed that Uzbekistan occupies a worthy place in the world community and opens up to the whole world. The ongoing practical reforms in the country for the benefit of the well-being of the people are clearly visible and expressed confidence that the ongoing constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan are also aimed at developing entrepreneurship, improving the investment environment and further strengthening the protection of property, which will create a strong legal guarantee of the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and the free activity of all citizens .

Following the results of the meetings, UNECE expressed its readiness to partially finance projects for the digitalization of the industry, within the framework of the technical assistance program, and will continue to support in terms of compliance with international standards. 

Also, the foreign side accepted the invitation of the Association to participate in the upcoming Tashkent Textile Week, where UNECE representatives will hold a seminar on supporting small and medium businesses.
