On 23 August 2007, United Nations Development Programme’s project "Improving Tax Administration in Uzbekistan" donated text-books to the Information Center of the Tax Academy of Uzbekistan.

In order to assist the Government of Uzbekistan in meeting the challenge of modernization of tax administration system, in 2005 UNDP has launched Improving Tax Administration in Uzbekistan Project. One of the Project’s activities is focused on the capacity building of the State Tax Committee’s staff, as well as on improving the curricula and the quality of the courses of the Tax Academy.

During the opening, Mr. Erkin Gadoev, Rector of the Tax Academy, noted: "We highly appreciate UNDP’s assistance in improving the resource center of the Tax Academy, as well as in implementation of a comprehensive training program of the Academy".

More than 130 names of books on different disciplines such as taxation, tax administration, auditing, financial and tax accounting were donated to the Tax Academy.

The representatives of UNDP, Tax Academy and State Tax Committee participated in the ceremony.

This event is another product of the effective cooperation between UNDP and the Tax Academy. After the ceremony the representatives of UNDP visited the Information Center of the Academy.
