UNDP Arbitration project trains arbiters in Ferghana region
A group of arbiters and executive secretaries of arbitration courts and businesses from Ferghana region discussed issues of developing arbitration, authority of judges, implementation of decision of the arbitration courts and other issues at the workshop on 17 October.

The joint project of UNDP and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan “Supporting to the development of arbitration courts and other alternative methods of dispute settlement in the Republic of Uzbekistan” (Arbitration Project) organized the workshop as part of series of events, which were planned to be carried out in each region of Uzbekistan.

The workshop was held in two sections. The first section was devoted to general issues on arbitration courts and dispute resolution in this body, including advantages of the arbitration courts, implementation of their decisions and authority of arbiters.

The second section was designed for arbitration courts’ judges and executive secretaries of arbitration courts. It consisted of theoretical and practical works.

Shavkat Juraboev, manager of the Arbitration Project, and Davron Akhmatov, Training specialist of the Arbitration Project, provided information to arbiters on issues considered at the arbitration courts, paper work at the courts, processes of dispute resolution, etc. The participants strengthened their knowledge with the games.
