Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 March 2024, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to organize the activities of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

The purpose of this resolution is to implement the basic principles of quality assurance of official statistics of the United Nations into the national statistical system by the end of 2024.

According to the resolution, the following measures will be taken:

1. Generation of statistical information disseminated by producers of official statistics based on the Generic Statistical Information Production Model (GSBPM).

2. Taking the necessary organizational measures as part of the full implementation of quality management guidelines recommended by the United Nations.

In the context of these activities, a policy for the quality and dissemination of official statistics will be developed in each producer of official statistics, as well as a National Quality Management Guide based on the UN-approved guidelines (NQAF). A global assessment of the national statistical system will also be carried out and the results announced.

From 1 January 2025, consulting companies, higher educational institutions and research institutes will be involved in the process of carrying out statistical observations.

By the end of 2024, electronic data exchange will be established between the Integrated Information System “Statistics” and the Interdepartmental Integration Platform of the “Electronic Government” system.
